The first hurdle the members had to cross was to find a suitable building for a mosque. The members that started Masjid Ibrahim had a good core group, an imam, teachers and people who had prior knowledge on how to open and run a mosque. The majority of the problems that started were not faith related, and for this reason many people moved to other mosques. It was not long that differences started to arise among the members and the community that used the facilities. The only minor difference would be that it did not move from the Islamic centre to the site it is on now, rather the members moved with the community to the new site of the Islamic centre which is called Masjid Abu Bakar. ![]() Like many mosques in Burnley, Masjid Ibrahim also shares and starts its journey from the Islamic centre on rectory road.
